Young@Art
The Kawartha Arts Festival is passionate about giving young people the opportunity to display their work. We offer dedicated young artists the chance to showcase and sell their work alongside established artists at NO CHARGE.
Young@Art is open to all secondary school age (must be entering grade 9 or have just finished their final year). Students in an art related program at university or college are also eligible (proof of enrollment required).
Two Ways to Participate
Community Showcase
Young@Art will provide students a booth to display 2 to 3 pieces of their work at no charge. Space may be limited so this offer is on a first come first serve basis. They are responsible for their set-up and care of their work.
Vendor
Students are given space to sell their work. We recommend a variety of sizes and pieces. For example, prints of an original piece give buyers more options (sizes and prices). They are responsible for the set-up and care of their work.
- All art must be created solely by the artist.
- Vendors must maintain their stall for the two day festival.
- All artists must set up on the Friday of the Labour Day long weekend ( 9am to 5 pm).
- Vendors need to be at the festival for the 10 am opening on the Saturday.
- Parental forms must be completed prior to the festival. Security will be on site through the night.
- Application Deadline is the last Monday in June.
We recommend that artists take the time to view other artists’ work and talk to them about their art. This can be a great learning experience for everyone.
